![]() BROTHER B SMA DOUBLE WINNER
Brother B was born in Grenada, West Indies. He starting singing at an early age and spent nine years singing reggae in Grenada , taking part in singing competitions around the Island . He won all the competitions but found that singing Reggae in Grenada wasn't fruitful and decided to enter the Soca arena. In 2007 Brother B teamed up with legendary producer Jimmi King of King Beat Studios in Grenada and went on to win St Mark's Soca Monarch in 2007 at the age of 23. Brother B also got through to the semi finals of Grenada's Soca Monarch of the same year. His tunes Pork, Explosion, Carnival Start, No Horn and Give it to you are hits across the Caribbean, UK, USA, Canada and parts of Europe. Parang Season 2007 Brother B's track ‘Pork for the Christmas' was an instant hit alongside, Hard Whine and Living in Love again with constant play across the waters. He appeared on Jimmi King Grenada Parang album 2007 which was distributed in the UK, and an instant seller. Brother B started the 2008 season with a huge track called ‘Ah Little Wine' produced by Doggy sent people into a dancing frenzy in Grenada and across the world. His second track ‘Mama cry' is about the pain and suffering a mother goes through when losing their child to gang violence. Other tracks include, ‘Bad Like We', ‘Wine Down' featuring Mr Killa, ‘Little Wine' the remix featuring Lava, ‘Loose' on the Beat it Riddum. These tracks can be found on his debut album ‘More Fire' which was released Autumn 2008 and available to buy online through www.specialist-events.com and Record Stores in Grenada, UK, Sweden, USA & Canada. The 2008 carnival season Brother B has performed alongside Allison Hinds, Bunji Garlin, Faye Ann Lyons and other greats in the Industry. Brother B got through to the finals in Grenada 's Soca Monarch, also won third place in Grenada 's Village Soca Monarch and won best song at the Grenada 's Soca Monarch 2008. Brother B has been named the best overall artist in 2008 by Grenada 's Carnival Committee due to his versatility and positive lyrics. In 2009 Brother B released his track 'You mae me go from his 'One Step Ahead' album. Followed by Whola which was released in London followed by Brother B's first performance in England. Brother B won two Soca Music Awards in London. Winning Best International Male and Best Soca track for 'Little wine'. The awards were voted by the public and was the first time a Grenadian artist won these awards. 2010 Brother B released 'Carnival Fever' for Carriacou carnival.
